Fortnite ESP-DIST-001 With Bitdefender: Fix

ESP-DIST-001 is an Epic Games Launcher distribution error, so it can look like a Fortnite download outage. It is not always a Fortnite file problem. Bitdefender has published a support notice for a specific conflict affecting the Epic Games Launcher, which makes the installed Bitdefender version an important first check rather than a guess.

Update Bitdefender from its own interface, apply any pending product update, and restart Windows. Do not permanently disable protection or add broad exclusions just to test a game launcher. A current product update is safer and keeps the diagnosis reversible.

After Windows restarts, close Epic Games Launcher fully and open it again. Sign out and back in once only if the launcher is working but the error returns. Repeated sign-ins, cache wipes and reinstall attempts at the same time make it harder to know which change helped.
